BackupAll V1.1

1. Why - there is already a backup program?

First of all, let me assure that the intention of this program is NOT
to battle BackupBuddy. On the one hand I like BackupBuddy, but I dont
need all of its functions and thus I didnt want to pay for it.
On the other hand I didnt want to use it illegally and so I decided
to write a similar application for my own. Now I suppose that some
other folks could think like me - and so I release my little app along
with the sources.

2. Installation

Like any other app for the PalmOS Platform: Double click the app
icon in Windows Exploder and the Application Install tool will
install it at the next HotSync.

3. Usage

The user interface is a little bit simple - but it works. There are
three buttons:

Force
For every database that is not write protected: Change the backup
bit to one and "touch" the database, setting the change date
to the actual date. Thus every single database will be backed up at
the next HotSync - regardless whether it has changed or not.

All
For every database that is not write protected: Change the backup
bit to one. Every database will be backed up at the next HotSync
that has been changed recently.

Changed
For every database that is not write protected and that hadnt
been backed up or that has been modified: Change the backup
bit to one. All new or modified databases will be backed
up at the next HotSync.

4. Success control

To verify that the changes have been done as the user thought,
please use programs like DBExplorer or similar stuff. BackupAll
is a quick hack and does not include display of database
attributes for the sake of simplicity. Hey, after all it is free.

5. Copyright, copying

This program is copyrighted by me, Matthias Jordan, and published
under the GNU public licence that is included in this package.
The license in short: share this program, sell it, give it as
a present, change it, delete it. Do everything you want to do
with it as long as the copyright notices is not removed and
as long as the source code of the program accompanies the
rest of the package.

6. Warranty

There comes no warranty with BackupAll. Every user who executes
the program does this on his/her own risk. (Hey! On the other
hand: You have the source code and can see that it shouldnt
do anything dangerous to your system.)

7. Future updates

On one hand BackupAll is very small so I dont expect any bugs to
be in BackupAll. On the other hand it is a piece of software and so
it may contain an unknown number of bugs. If it contains bugs I will
correct them and publish the update. If it doesnt contain any bugs
dont expect an update with new features. Never the less you are
encouraged to enhance BackupAll and publish it to the Palm Community
under the GPL.

9. Great product! I want to register.

As I already mentioned above, the program is published under
the GNU public license. You dont have to pay a fee to use the
program. If you want to do something useful, either work for a
charity organization or spend some money to them. Or write a new
program for the Palm Community and publish it under the GNU
public licence.
